The retina is the innermost layer of the eye that is attached to the sclera in the back of the eye which receives and transmits images that have passed through and been focused by the lens and cornea. The retina, like a film in a camera, is responsible for creating the images that one sees. A good picture will not be produced if the films are not in its correct location within the camera, and you lose vision if the retina is not in its proper place within the eye.
